Thanks for all the tips guys,,,
I built my smitty last year and I think I placed my front uprights to close to the front of the skiis as it was extremely heavy to pull. (Like super hard).
I cut the skiis down to 4ft in length due to not having alot of room in the car. (I hate having a salter on pick up truck).
Im thinking, maybe I should place the uprights closer together and towards the back end of the skiis.
either that,,, or otherwise,, im gonna mount the skii right onto the pelican sled but its gonna have to be detachable (wont slide through the trunk)
Im seriously considering putting a roof rack on the car to help transport all the gear, Ive only ever seen that once. Pelican sled, right ontop of the vehicle

How long is your pulling rope?
I make mine way long and it helped a ton in ease of pulling.

How long is your pulling rope?
I make mine way long and it helped a ton in ease of pulling.
Ive got about 50 ft of rope that I usually use (so about 20ft away from the sled).
I also have thinner skiis (kid size) and a wider set as well (adults)

Doing this with the notch and wing nut system that was posted would probably work well for a car. It’s light as it gets, and carries a ton of weight without flinching. The fence boards are great for “rock crawling” over is... it flexes like a off-road suspension system.
Oh, and crack a deck board... no biggie... flip it out for a few bucks. Usually it seems I’ll crack one a year, but I also like dragging it over 2-3ft high rocks to see how it handles it. Under normal use, it wouldn’t have any cracking boards. Lol

Like this... no skis lift off the ground/rocks/ice. It flexes through the terrain, so no tipping or high centering on ski centres like a stiff smitty would.
All four tires on the ground,,, if skis were tires. Lol
