Strange facts that I have just learned. If you a vehicle of any sort to pull sled you need a tow bar, but if you tow humans in a sled you only need a rope. The ideals for smitty sleds are endless and they all work. Actually thinking of fabricating a long skinny one to fit under wheels of atv when on the trailer. It would give me more room in the back of the vehicle.

rigid tow bar legally applies to snowmobiles only

of course it is a good idea for quads too, just not required legally

using just rope you will eventually crash / hit something etc and then you could be charged for careless driving
