Here are some pictures of my new sled. Now I have to build some rod and equipment holders before the weekend. Looking at the weather forecast I think it may be in use this weekend hopefully and out for her maiden voyage. Hope the pics come through.

Congrats on the sleigh. Should be very easy to pull. You have kept the weight down to the bare minimum using a plastic tub and abs fittings. Might have to keep an eye on it on windy days and bare ice. Again; nice job.
Just curious as how you fastened the abs to the skis.

i will be breaking in my new sled this weekend as well, good luck and hopefully i can see your sled with a bunch of fish in it
here is the one i just made this weekend, i designed it so it could be taken apart with no tools as the 3/8 wing nut holds the 2x4 cross brace but for a small permanent sled i like your idea

Hey Dee004, l see in the pics the ABS black pipe is glued, does the sled base break down in size to put in vehicle and store, or its permanent and sled sits on top?

Lanterman, how wide did you set the skis apart. Very similar to mine, but I fastened he carriage bolts to the crossers and drilled pilot holes down thru the legs for the bolts to slide into, hoping to see how it works out this weekend as well for the maiden voyage. I've set my skis to almost 48" thinking they may ride better in the snowmobile ski tracks? And same idea, leave room to strap an auger beside the tub. Also dee, I thought about using abs to frame it as well but couldn't come up with a solution to affix the pipe to the skis securely and also to be able to break it down for storage/transport.

The both look awesome guys, you should pound out a couple and throw em on kijiji. I bet their are quite a few guys who could use them but don't have the skills, or time to build their own. Let us know how the maiden voyage goes.

Looks like he might of glued caps on bottom of legs and screwed up thru bottom of skis into the cap. Or for one that breaks down a little you could glue in a union on each leg and just loosen to remove ski's

I mounted the caps using ski binding screws. The skis come off but the rest is glued. I'm going to use bungees around it and a generator cover to keep everything dry if it's snowing and or windy. I have a pickup and a liberty so it fits in either easily. I will take some pics tomorrow of how I mounted the caps. Had it loaded up last night with about 150lbs and pulled it around the front lawn and it worked really well so I don't foresee any issues, I hope Thanks for all the kind words and all suggestions are welcome. Hope to see some of the guy's out on the lake. Safe and plentiful fishing to all.
