I thought I'd start a thread for ice (or lack there of) for the innisfil area. This is as of now down the street from my house at the 9th line. Unless this wind quits, it'll be a while yet. She's ready to go, just need a couple calm nights.

This was yesterday afternoon. Slowly making its way out. The winds are supposed to die off for a day or so sunday and monday. I think (hope) this will be when she snaps shut. I'll take a pic a day until this happens. The hut's waiting patiently in the driveway, ready to go. Hopefully we'll be out on opening day this year.

Ultimately the ice is only safe when you yourself feel safe on it. I can tell you we were fishing in safe ice out of Port Bolster on Jan 10th lady season. I think we might be a week or two ahead of that this year but things can change quickly. Congrats on the gear purchase, a gas auger and new hut, are you looking to take a machine out? It may be quite a bit longer before it's safe for machines with the exception of maybe an Argo.
