I thought I'd start a thread for ice (or lack there of) for the innisfil area. This is as of now down the street from my house at the 9th line. Unless this wind quits, it'll be a while yet. She's ready to go, just need a couple calm nights.

Long term forecast looking good also. Not predicting any temps, day or night, above 0C for the next two weeks.

Soon Matt, real soon!
If this wind ever dies down, she will snap shut.
Hopefully the temps stay favourable dude.

This was yesterday afternoon. Slowly making its way out. The winds are supposed to die off for a day or so sunday and monday. I think (hope) this will be when she snaps shut. I'll take a pic a day until this happens. The hut's waiting patiently in the driveway, ready to go. Hopefully we'll be out on opening day this year.

Has this wind from hell finally died down?? or do we have to wait another few days for cooks to freeze over?

I am new to this forum but very excited to get out there!

Last year I rented a shanty a few times and this year I have gone all out!
Got my self shelter, a stove, and a gas powered auger!

When do you think realistically it would be good enough to go out there? Just for Perch for now I guess?

Ultimately the ice is only safe when you yourself feel safe on it. I can tell you we were fishing in safe ice out of Port Bolster on Jan 10th lady season. I think we might be a week or two ahead of that this year but things can change quickly.
Congrats on the gear purchase, a gas auger and new hut, are you looking to take a machine out? It may be quite a bit longer before it's safe for machines with the exception of maybe an Argo.

No Machine or ATV so far!

Probably end up walking it out lol
No room for ATV's or anything with the boat and jetski!

How would that work? If I put my stuff on a sled, and see someone heading out, offer to drill their ice for a ride out?
