ATV Tire Chains?

I've never bothered bringing my ATV down from my property up north, but this year looks like we might get the ice I'd be happy driving it on.
Reading old posts and common sense tells me that tire chains, at least on rear tires and possibly front and rear are a good thing.
Anything to watch for when looking to buy?
Anybody have a source for them at a decent price?
Looking for something to fit a 25 11-12 stock rear tire on a 2004 Polaris Sportsman.

I put chains on my Polaris 2 years ago. They are awesome! Great on glare ice, (no fishtailing) dig in very well in deeper snow. I put them on the rear only. The pros do not recomend them on the front tires. Chains on the front will cause your atv to plow under the snow as opposed to raising the front up to ride over the snow. I paid 80 bux for the pair at Mid City Motorsports in Sudbury. Royal distributing probably sells them. Good luck.

Thanks BF. I briefly looked at that site when it popped up after a search. A little more than I wanted to spend, being Christmas, but I do like the diamond pattern and might consider it worth the extra cost. Looks like they might work better than standard cross chain.

Thanx for the link Blue Fox. I already have chains but the tensioners they show look very good.

I like the site because I have odd size tires , and being way down south fed x took four days for them to come to the door.

BlueFox, just for a giggle I entered an order to check on shipping. $96 for the chains......but another $70 for shipping via FedEx. $225 by Ground Freight.

Gonna have to keep shopping around.

Great minds must think alike. Had to go into Barrie today to get Wifey's X-Mas presents, and while there, thought, Hey! Why not check Princess Auto?
Had two sets left to fit my rear tires. There is now one left at the store. (as of 11 A.M this morning)
Wifey now has a box to wrap for me to put under the tree.

Use my bike for plowing and need the chains. a must for me.
