Hey everyone newbie to the forum here...just wondering how the ice is in Cooks Bay right now...anyone finding any jumbos in cook's yet?
Anyone finding any jumbos in cook's yet? I won't think anyone found no jumbos just yet. I mean, the ice is probably not even safe for ice fishing anywhere on Cook's Bay.
Personally I'd give it a another week (or wait until this coming weekend at the earliest possible date) before I'd jump onto Cook's Bay ice, but then that's just me.:-)

I don't think we can run sleds or atv anywhere on Lake Simcoe right now. Unreal;-)

I would be cautious of even posting anything with regards to driving machines on the ice at this early time in the season. Even if it is hearsay, others may take it to be factual and end up as a statistic. Everyone should check the ice themselves before venturing out and especially with regards to machines that all have different weight.

I agree, people see a post and take it as gold info. Please everybody be safe, use your own judgement, check ice conditions as you go. I personally take all advice on here as just that, ADVICE. Then do the verifying on my own! THanks

The ice in front of my house at Orchard Beach froze Wednesday and Sunday I see 2 sets of sled tracks. One actually drove out into the bay and did a pretty tight turnaround at what I assume was a slow speed! The part that really bothers me is people see tracks and think they are good to go! Just because one guy does it ........you get the picture. There are not a lot off places to get off the lake if things go bad.

Was out at Guilford yesterday and there was a minimum of 6" everywhere up to 1 foot 12". NO FISH! We drilled a few holes and talked to about 6 guys that were running and gunning all over the ice from 100 yards off shore to over a mile in all directions and all depths and no fish. We and they even had our cameras down and not even any scales to be seen. So the ice is thick enough to be safe and so are the fish cause they aren't there. And I have proof if you check the ice report from Jack, that's me drilling into between 8"-12" of ice.

Sounds good! I mean who would head to and march on that ice even if the ice is one foot (12 inches) thick now when there are no fish to be caught at all;-) haha
