When I made mine, I also made it to accomodate Snow Boards. Cut the back lip so it lays flat and screw them to the ski.

When the snow is deep and with the added width of the boards, it rides over the snow much easier and is easier to handle. Wax the bottoms and it'll glide over any depth of snow.

When the snow is deep, snow board attachments is a must.
