Hi Everyone,

Our 2014 LSO Meet & Greet was a great success, with an excellent turn-out and fantastic table fare. Where do I start with the thank-you for everyone pitching in putting together such a great luncheon, smoked fish, venison pepperettes, pulled pork, moose burgers, bear sausages, fried rice, baked beans, Kielbasas, taco salad, veggie dips, strudels, donuts, cakes, and the list goes on and on. A huge thank-you to everyone for helping to put this great meal together. I can't say it enough how many great members we have, both new and old, your support is greatly appreciated, always...

Thanks to the cooks Fatrap and Nsfisher for manning the grills, I know it was a fast and furious cook off. I want to give a special thank-you to Taj from Casey's Port Bolster Inn for providing the venue for this event. Setting up our party area and providing assistance all day, whenever needed. As well a big thank-you to all the moderators who helped set this up, I couldn't have done this without your continued support and guidance..

As most of you know the fishing was slow, but it was a beautiful day to be out on the lake and everyone I talked to had a great time. The winner of the big perch derby entry was Relic with an 11 1/4" perch. Taking home the 1st prize and a beautiful taxidermy mount of a perch donated by steelheader (Thank-you Dave). The winner of the "mystery length" perch was IFH who came closest to the winning length of 10". We also had a raffle with more prize giveaways. Congratulations to all the winners!!

I can't say enough about our M&G and how much fun we had.. So without further ado, here are some pictures from the day. If you have pictures from the event, please feel free to post them here or email them to me and i'll add them here, info@lakesimcoeoutdoors.com

Thanks to all that set this up. It was a great time even though the fishing was slow. Again, I apologize for not getting the pulled pork ready earlier for everyone. It's hard t leave fish when they start biting on a slow day

We didn't have room to try everything but I loved everything I tried including the bear sausage, fried rice, smoke fish pinwheel and strudel.

Also, got a really nice scoop of minnows and parking for $10.

I was still snacking on my drive home with the plate I made for "later" lol.

Great job to all those involved with organizing and setting up the M&G. Thank you for putting it on. I had a good time, and sure didn't go away hungry, what a spread of food.

I want to thank Admin for organizing yesterday's M&G and the mods for all the support. A special thanks to my down home brother FatRap for all his help and manning the 2nd BBQ grill.
Thanks to all the members new and old for the food and drinks but most of all your participation. Although the fishing wasn't stellar, reports from around the lake where consistent with our own. This is why yesterday was such a great event, fishing was slow but that's not what this sport is all about. We got together as a group, put faces to names and hopefully kicked off some new friendships. I for one was glad to finally meet many members and hopefully we will see each other again soon.
