Any one from the Midland Penetang way?

Hello all....I am moving to pentang this week and i was hoping to get abit of info on how the fishing is in then area. I've got a 17 foot boat and i would like to go to chase salmon on some walleye. If anyone can help me out that would be greatly appreciated.

the hog, sturgeon and coldwater rivers all get runs of salmon and trout... just go for a drive and see what you can find. you could also give brian at backwater tackle a call or swing by the store in midland and hell tell you everything you need to know, hes a great guy and always helps me find the fish whenever i ask.

Send a PM to "Grandpa Jim". He keeps his boat at the AC Marina in Penetang and fishes on Georgian Bay a lot. He can probably point you in the right direction for Salmon/Rainbow.

Just got back from there. The salmon are staging in the hole by Penetang right now. I caught two 90ft. down in 135ft. of water.

I am going to head out now and give it a try....hopefully the water isnt to rough and the hopefully the wife is willing to stay out for more than a couple hours, if i have any luck i will let yas know.

well we just got back home, i tried to find some deep water but with no luck. I decided to hit some shallows for some bass or pike and we managed one 25in pike. It was cold out there and the water wasnt to rough so all in all it was a good afternoon and you cant beat the 2 minute drive home instread of my old 1.5 hour drive!!
