> looking for good salmon fishing

while fishing in thornbury will i need a net? or can i just pull the salmon right onto shore? also any one herd anything on the saugeen or maitland river?

I never brought a net to Thornbury, but I always wear my waders and am able to beach the salmon somewhere or other. If you don't have waders and are fishing high on the rocks a net would be helpful. Bring it just incase.

when its a 3 hr drive to the river i like to have some idea on if there a point in being in a car for 6 hours

Maitland and Saugeen are still running a little low, but some nice fish being caught in the Grand River. Rain this week should bring in the fish on the Saugeen.

also was at the maitland las saturday all the salmon i saw get caught and i one chinok i got were all brown but saw some steelies being caught so i think in the next week or 2 theyll be heading in

Yes, they are floating roe bags and bottom bouncing. You'll need waders to get to some of the spots.

I could not agree more. Lots of guys drive long distances to river fish. Hit the road and figure it out for yourself. I find the fishing experience much more rewarding and fun, then asking strangers on the web for info.

ksweezy if you dont like reading this stuff stay off the site all the rivers that are being talked about are all huge popular rivers no ones giving out top secretspots and i personlly have learned tonnes of things i wouldnt have learned from people willing to exchange info and not all people can afford to waste money driving all over southern ontario looking for fishing spots
