Well for the amount of perch, walleye and salmon in the boat, I'd hate to see the boat try and float if I didn't bring bananas. Just one of those superstitions like no womens in the boat for bad luck. Ya never know how lucky you might get if the fish aren't biting, something else just might want to play

So it seems there is a 65% dumb a## ratio going on here. It's JUST a banana, take it onboard, take it out to dinner, take advantage of it, take no prisoners, best yet, take a bite. Eat it, and don't bring it home. Be sure and get rid of all evidence, don't want land lubbers to know we're not following Jack Sparrow's pirate code

Doesn't matter to me.

When I went to Peregrine Lodge in the Queen Charlotte Islands 10 years ago, the guides didn't want bananas in the boat. They were however, on the lunch counter for you to take out in your cooler bag for lunch?

Mixed message.

Bananas are just one rung below setting your riggers on even numbers for jinxing a fishing trip. Also never put on your right boat shoe before the left one. Not that I'm the least bit superstitious, of course.

Your either can fish or you can't. A banana won't change anything!

There's a lot of things I won't bring on a boat; an open pail of acid, rabid rats, a rhino, a bonfire, 3 women........but I never considered bananas once . Any reason behind this proscribed fruit?

Poppajd - have to ask - why the three limit for women on your boat?

What is difference between 4 or 2 or 1 or none? Am I missing something? Is it to do with the number of bananas on your boat?

Nothing like peeling a banana to entice a strike works every time.

Maybe when you leave the banana peel on the floor entwined with pike slime, it becomes extra slippery.
