Taking my usual weekend trips to Panorama Camp - normally do a little bass fishing but this year want to concentrate more on bass rather than Pike. I can hit Middle West Bay with no problems, but want to try the Hay Narrows and West Bay - any suggestions and lure type. I have a great GPS on the boat so should be ok for rocks etc.

Usually there every weekend in September to Thanksgiving.

Thanks
Jack

Hey, i'm in the Panorama area having trouble catching anything, what do you suggest for all species and what setup is effective?

I personally prefer jigging rigs.

I'm used to Rainy Lake and Lake of the Woods fishing

if your coming up the channel from Lavigne to the big islands on the left - think there called Hardwood Islands - there is an opening in the middle - that bay holds pike and bass and if you follow the channel through the weeds you should catch something. There is also a creek that runs from the end on Middle West Bay, get shallow at the entrance 4 feet but drops to 10 ft once inside, both sides hold some pretty good large mouth and of course pike. As your coming out of the creek right in front of you slightly to the right there is an island just before that you will find a rocky showl again bass. Watch for rocks especially between islands and in a lot of places. Don't jig a lot, not my style like spinner baits, plugs and spoons. Also if you go towards the end of Hardwood Islands there will be a few rocks - islands just to your right - some just below water. I toss a lot of flipping jigs there with big plastics on the end.

Good fishing
