Finally get to post a fishing report...waited all summer actually. Planned on spending the weekend fishing Sturgeon Lake, for the first time. Made it up early Friday morning and fished for about 2 hours before encountering motor problems which basically ended my trip before it even started Anyway, in the short time I had to fish I managed to boat 2 small walleye and half a dozen Smallies, biggest being a pound and half maybe. Got all the fish trolling with a smaller perch pattern Rapala Shad Rap along weedlines in 10-12' of water. I liked what little I saw and definitely will have to go back...hopefully for more than 2 hours next time!!

Hey Beavertail

I am leaving Thursday afternoon and staying until Sunday at sturgeon for our family annual musky fishing , never fished sturgeon but I am looking forward for this like crazy, I had some good tips and advice about this lake, so I will keep everyone posted when I came back , we are staying at Water's Edge Resort, it's close to big bob channel and also faces muskrat island, hopefully I can post some nice pics !!! Line tight all the time !!!! Cheers

Sorry to hear motor troubles kept your trip short. Hope the repair is easy on the wallet. At least you were able to bag some fish before she broke down. Put it in perspective, you are two walleye ahead of me this open water season and i've been fishing since may!
