Just got back from my second trip of the year to South Bay. Have to say, in the twenty years I've been doing these trips the Bass fishing has never been better. Caught three bass totaling 16.4 lbs in less than 20 min. 1 largemouth was 7lbs, another was 5 and a smallie I thought would have weighed in heavier was 4.4. My 4 yr old boated a 3 lb smallie and my 9 yr old got a 5 lb smallie. All in South Bay, along the reeds. Pike we're almost nonexistent but I did get a monster follow-up on Friday. Weather was awful but fishing was great. Been making the 8.5 hour drive twice a year for twenty years and there is no way I'll ever stop.
