A friend and I went to Lower Buckhorn on Saturday and had a blast, so I figured a report was in order....

We arrived at 7am to pickup our rental boat at Sunrise Resort in the town of Buckhorn. The boat was a 14' aluminum with an 8-horse four stroke, and the price was very affordable. The owner was friendly and helpful, and I would definitely recommend renting there (and will be doing so again myself).

We started the day casting into weeds along shore, resulting in some chunky largemouth. When that bite died down a little we moved out into the lake, anchoring off of rocks and islands for 10-15 minutes at a time before moving on. We caught a nice mix of smallmouth and largemouth doing this. All in all we caught about 40 (ish) bass, and a few decent sized perch.

There were three lures that were really working for us;

1. Lindy Rig with a minnow was the hands down champion of the day.
2. Wacky rigged Senko's did well too.
3. A 1/4 oz Roadrunner jig tipped with a 3" Powerbait Ripple Shad caught a few too.

It was a great day, and we will definitely be going back to Lower Buckhorn. The lake is really beautiful, and while we didn't catch any monsters we were busy and had fun.

Thanks. For some reason on my iphone half the pictures are rotated the wrong way. When I use my PC, the pictures look fine.

Is it just me or is anyone else seeing this too?

Sounds like you had a great day on the water. Lower Buckhorn is one of my favourite lakes to fish

The odd thing that dutch and i are talking about is the fact that when we view the post from a computer, all four pictures are in the right orientation. When we view on mobile (his phone, my ipad) we see two of the pics sideways.

Ok Dutch/Putaforkinya

I see the same on my iPad 2 right & 2 wrong. What you can do is what I did.
- I just save the sideways image back onto my iPhone. When I did so the image was still sideways on my camera roll.
- I then edit the pic turn to correct and save.
- Next go back to the post with the pics and click edit.
- click on choose file and then pick the option to replace with new photo
- now choose the edited pic from your camera roll and resubmit the edited post.
All should be good again

****** Note that the process above does not work when you upload multiple pics from Flickr etc under the same post. It does work for any iPhone or iPad posts when editing 1 pic per post. I hope that helps. ******

Here is your 1st pic corrected

Thanks nsfisher!

I think the wonky images have something to do with the fact I didn't upload them, they're hosted on my web space.

Next time I post I will try uploading and see if it makes a difference.

First off nice fish and report.

Yes as Elrik said, all the pics look fine on my computer, no probs, correct orientation.

I just checked this post on my android mobile phone and they are all fine as well. Correctly oriented.

I don't have an iphone or ipad. I will wait until I get a hold of my girlfriend's gadgets and check it out.

I think there may be a problem with the file caching for these apple devices and your host website. Can you try to reload / refresh the browsers in the apple devices. Maybe they are caching older images which might be the wrong orientation. I don't know as I have yet to see what you see, but it sounds like a caching issue to me.

When you're seeing the fish side ways, maybe it's how he's holding it. LOL Dumbasses. LOL Okay, just having you on. Nice fish, got any pictures of the perch? I fish that water from time to time. My home water's are Lovesick Lake. One lock ride down, and Stoney. One more lock ride down. I am on Lovesick. It's all the same pretty much. The only reason I go to Stoney, or Buckhorn is for a change of scenery. Lovesick is a real small body of water, and a couple of days will see you fishing the same areas over again. It's advantage is easy change to different structure, different depths. Moving is close by, not running for hours to move.

Those are some nice fish !
I was wondering if you could give some more information on the boat rentals. I am interested in renting one and I would like to know how much it costs and if you need your license.

Thanks, jbucks28
