Hey guys, heading to pigeon lake the weeknd of 13th for musky, last year I didn't even get a bite so this year doing everything I can to get one. Any one have recomendations for buck tail inline spinner colors, and then any successful bait with color? Going to be fishing all around the big island, mostly casting but will troll a bit mid day. Thanks for your help

My favorite Pigeon Lake colors for inline spinners and spinner baits are copper & black and fire tiger, depending on water conditions. For crank baits, orange and perch colors worked best for me. Don't overlook the shoals and humps around Hurricane Point in the northeast part of the lake.

Im an avid Bass angler and have been running into a pile of Musky while fishing shallow lilly pads lately. Last weekend I hooked into 7 in one day throwing soft swimbaits for Bass. A couple big ones too !!!

Good luck out there, the GF and I will be up for the first time this season this weekend. We'll mostly be trolling big cranks. We'll be in a black legend with 25 merc and a big white dog, if you see us, feel free to check in for an update.

After 3 summers of fishing and only catching one sunfish, my BF and I are once again on pigeon lake. On Tuesday we were right outside gypsy point, blue and white trailer, and after a few casts a big musky, maybe 4' chased in my white spinner bait... a couple casts later another one slightly smaller chased it in... we went in so that we could pick up some plyers, we are not prepared for a fish this big and are in an inflatable tunnel hull super dux... not three casts after going back out did I get what looked to be a 3' musky. it jumped in the air a few times and though my BF did a great job helping me, my inexperience made my second catch ever quickly turn into the one that got away... still trying though! back out we head with my trusty white spinner bait and the green machine super dux! Oh and my good luck charm and de-hooker, Dave!

Always had a soft spot for a Mepps #5 Musky killer. A gold blade on a red buck tail treble hook. I put a split rig on the bottom of the hook with a snap. Slide the ring down one hook, and open to spin it on a second hook. While you spin it on be sure to place the snap in there. Add a stinger hook, a dressed stinger hook, a piece of pork rind. Lots of options. For a crank bait I like perch, or black, and gold. Jointed swim whizz, or pikie minnow, or a j13 rapala. Good luck.

Of the four muskies I've caught - three were on trigger-x walleye grub -3.5". These are relatively small baits for large musky - but got them just the same. I don't target musky.
I use bass baits and catch walleye. I use walleye baits and catch bass, pike and crappie (plus 3 musky).
