"Weiner.............." You may very well be one!! Boy you created and stepped into that one!! What were you thinking??????????
Dear wishin fishin
Stop it! You clearly are frustrated. As written by admin, this is the way it is. Personally I don't agree, but I respect it.
Most fishing folks are liars.... RELAX, the rest of you. While they are willing to share their expertise, there are things that they will NEVER share. I have fished with pros and while they are great, they too keep certain secrets that they believe gives them an edge. Even discussing lakes with some is voodoo. Go figure. You just can't demand people respond to a "weiner!"
Back on Oct 18 you asked for tips on bass fishing. I responded as did others. You asked for help and hopefully we were able to get you to open up your thinking. In my opinion too many fishing folks fail to catch fish as they don't open up their thinking and tend to stick to what is comfortable or simple - for them. They yap that there were no fish, water was too dirty, etc. You have to be creative, flexible and open to change. YOU decide what is your favorite lake.
You were genuine when you asked for help on bass and I hope that you will continue to be so genuine and enthusiastic on this site and on the water. I read you as a good person. Don't make me a liar!! Best regards,

We have been working on that announcement for some time and weren't going to post it just yet, as we were still adjusting the wording etc. But your minor rant gave us the opportunity to post it, that's why it says - Message to all Members.. Anyways it's cool.. Don't worry, be Happy..

You guys don't need to apologize or explain. We all are capable of stepping into &^%$ at one time or another by not thinking before we talk or write. This forum has a lot to offer with a huge # of folks who are more than willing to help/share. Use it, then pass your learning.
Lighten up, laugh it all off and share your stories... good or bad.

I would be happy to tell you exactly where I think the best fishing spots are. Then you can strike then off the map as potential hot spots.... LOL
If I were to add up all the money that I spend on fishing and divide it by the weight of fish I catch, I would need to change my paints when I see the $/lbs!
I am such a horrible fisherman that it is outright comical. But I have a lot of fun trying!

I started that way -but didn't use the term horrible. Instead I'm still considering myself learning.
Best stage on learning came when read a book on walleye fishing - strategies - during winter - was ready for spring and did I then take some walleye!!! Nothing is easy - but learning from others and this LSO site - are great starts. And I can't post without stating - getting into the trigger-x also helped me move forward . . .

I have harped on this subject a few times. An educated angler is an armed angler. Capable of making informed, educated decisions. This is where you get that education, not just this site. The internet, google, youtube. Everything you want to learn about fishing is on youtube. Some of it being taught by kids. 8 years old, and giving a video seminar about top water fishing! And getting it right! Videos of the species you are seeking, and cross reference your search to time of year. For instance type in to youtube "ice fishing perch Lake Simcoe early ice" You won't get just Simcoe, but if it works in Nebraska, it'll work here. Watch fishing shows, read magazines, and books. All your favourite fishing show hosts have web sites. Visit them, and go to the tips section. Hell, this site has a tips section. Learn what you can, and think of where that would apply on your lake. Use your new found knowledge, and give it a fair chance before dodging back to the worm bucket. Go to www.navionics.com click on webapps in the upper right corner. Your lake is on it somewhere. So from youtube you know your fish is in Xft. of water this time of year. Find spots in that range on the Navionics site, and make plans to get to those spots. Winter, or summer, find where your fish should be, and start from there. I would wish you luck, but luck has so little to do with it. Instead, have fun, catch lots, but limit your keep.

Years ago, I took an employee fishing who had never fished, much less held a rod. Nothing. No exposure whatsoever. Never even been on a boat. I told my wife I was going to be home early as I assumed the day would be very challenging. Next thing I see is this kid ripping fish left and right. It was so much fun to witness his enthusiasm. I asked him how he knew what to do, how to, and so on. He said "I watch fishing on ESPN." This kid learned how to really watch those shows and focus on various areas. He was very good, not just by watching ESPN, but focusing on details.
As walleye37 wrote........... Lots of places / ways to learn. Baffled? Just ask. Folks on this site are great at tossing out info. Try to learn something new every time you fish.

It's funny you mention you tube. Before we went to rice on vacation I searched you tube to find any hints. There were 2 guys fishing rice lake with a black horse hair jig. I caught three bass while up there using the same pattern. In fact I drove an hour and a half to the Cabelas in West Virginia to buy them before we left.
There is a wealth of info on the internet. Like most people who are consistent in catching fish have told me "Experience is the best teacher".
And
Like my dad had told us when we were kids " if it was easy they would call it catching and not fishing"

Good decision, doing your you tube homework. Do you have any idea how many Bass you drove past on your way to Cabelas? LOL Fishing IS easy, no one said anything about catching.
