Posted a similar poll on the Lake Simcoe board and somebody suggested I post a similar one here to see the varying results, so I decided to do so. List has been modified a bit, for options like Whitefish or Pike go to the Simcoe board poll.

I voted whitefish for Simcoe because I have never eaten a walleye caught in that region. I can still remember the first time I tried a Kawartha Lakes walleye, the family I was with called them Pickerel, it is a delicious and tender fish. For hardwater in the Kawarthas it's Walleye for me! Crappie are very good too though.

Scugog has had a walleye ice season. Whether it still does for 2015 is still up in the air.
Ya i would be ok with a closed season on the bog. I started fishing there about 6 years ago for walleye on the ice. It was good lots to be had. A few years later it was so hard to get them it was not worth the trip now i have not been in a few years.
They should open a new season on a different lake each year for the walleye. It could be a way to manage the lakes with the walleye so one lake is not getting pounded every ice season.

I think they're just trying to kill off the scugog walleye population lol.
