I doubt it man! You'd be lucky if there was 2" there! I'm itching to get out there too but not at a cost for some fish. If you are desparate enough, I hear Little Lake has about 4 inches of ice now. Just be careful there as not all spots have 4". Maybe stay on the beaten path! I'm thinking of heading up there either Sunday or Monday.

Fisherboy.... Do you really think it will have 4" by then? All the guys are standing at the window with their ice fishing rods in their hand and looking out! We must all look pretty pathetic to our significant other!

yeah really, my perch spot on the east side of the island is in 4 feet and is only 150 feet from shore so it should be ready by new years can't say what the rest of the lake will be like

Didn't you hear its not going to freeze this year! Lets Riot!! LOL I wouldn't go on just yet. Unless your aiming to be a statistic. My goal was to be out on the ice the day after boxing day the 27th after I spend my stack of bass pro gift cards that i'm expecting. But check out the weather we are looking at plus degrees all week topping 8 degrees it just ain't gonna happen.

Kind of disappointing considering last year there was a foot of ice by New Years but not every year will be perfect, just a little patience required for everyone this season, good luck to all when the hardwater gets here.

Not saying that it's safe ( because it isn't ) I've walked out already this year and spudded some holes which had 4 inches of black ice and 2 inches white. But that was only 50ft from shore and not too far past that, there was a giant black spot where it was open a few days ago with just a skim over it. It's not looking too bad though but with this warm spell we might have to wait a lot longer.

I walked out about 20 feet from shore just seeing what the ice looked like, hopefully after this warm spell it'll be cold again and we can be fishing for new years
