Had a great time out on pickerel lake with the old man for the opener. Bit of a slow day, marked a few fish. The oldman missed a couple bites and i lost a nice pick at the hole. Cant wait to get back out tomorrow morning and really give'er. Found a nice drop off towards the end of the day, gonna hammer it tomorrow. Hope everyone had a great opener and happy new year.

Trying everything from jigs, slab grabbers, spoons, pickerel rigs, triggerx, minnows you name it. Giving it one more go tomorrow moning.

Welllll, another skunk show. Lots of marks but NOTHING will bite. May try bernard in the morning before having to get back to niagara. Definetly loving my new elite 3x though, fantastic unit.

I'm not much of help when it comes with picks but if you do head out to Bernard. Try going deep (east of the shoal where everyone has been fishing the past few days). If ice allows of course. I fished around 70 feet of water near the popups and zilch on the flasher aside from a few uninterested whities. I was going to try finding deeper (100') but the weather turned bad so called it a day. Seemed like no one caught anything out there today.

Don't feel bad, I was out the last couple of days as well marked a bunch of fish not even a nibble. Jigging spooked the fish and a still bait had fish staring at it. I through everything down the hole and nothing. I blamed the weather

CNDNWAYOFLIFE905 next time trying Pickeral lake venture out further then straight out of the place your staying. I have a cottage not far from where you were staying. Either go right (south) for pike and perch or go the the Left (North) to get into the Pickeral. I seen you out there each day. We were catching fish not far from you the last couple days. You were basically fishing the least fish producing shoreline on our lake!!!! I have property on the other side of the road of where you were at. The F****mans, ?? I believe that's where you were
Good luck, letme know when you are back up. Maybe ill be there and can show you around

Hey thanks for the feedback strangler!. Im not too sure when i will have the opportunity to get back up there, possibly family day long weekend. This may sound too much to ask but... While i was up there and got out a few times with the old man, hes hooked now. Went out and bought himself all of his own gear, including a red eskimo hut. I think its a 5 sided eskimo. If you see him out there and your close by, would you mind popping by and saying hello to him? Maybe give him a few pointers. His name is Earl, hes a really nice guy. Hes new to the area and has no friends lmao, so throwing some advice coud go a long way. Who knows, maybe you guys will get out fishing together.he got out a few days ago on pick lake but didnt set up the hut, too much snow for him to handle, but he did manage a feed of perch.again thanks for the feedback, if you see him out there, dont be afraid to say hey. My name is bryce, so if you end up seeing him just let him know i sent yea. Thanks alot and good luck with your season!
