Hi Bryce
I should have came over and said hello at New Years.
Was I right as to the cottage you were at? Is this where Earl is?

My family has had a cottage on the lake for the last 85 years so I guess you could say I know the lake like the back of my hand.
Im just turning 40 myself but have taken in all the experience from my grandfather before me.

Ice fishing is very tough on our lake. Yes you can get some Pickeral very early in the season but after that a nice pair of eyes is a real bonus.
Pike, perch and herring are plentiful if you hit the right spot. Not hard to catch 10-20 6 pound plus pike in a day if your sitting right.
Lots of lakes close by with specks and splake if your looking for more action.

My parents live on the lake now and I live quite far away so I visit thru out the year. Not sure if Ill make it back up for hard water or not.

If your there on the soft water and get to know the lake, I can guarantee you wont find a better spot then what our lake can prodeuce as far as great fisho

The old tymer went out today, he ended up with a few perch and even managed to get himself an eye! He must be doing something right, maybe he should tell me his tricks considering i got skunked in my hunt for lakers on simcoe today. Ahwell, good for him! And thanks trapperdirk, il be sure to let him know.

Will be returning family day long weekend, weather permitting. Last time i came up we drove through an absolute white out from hunstville in the dark. Not too much fun when youre struggling to keep up to the guy infront of you because you cant see the side of the road its so bad along with a screaming baby in the back
