Fished from shore on the west side of the Bay today. Was fishing by 7AM and had a nice 2lb rainbow by 7:05. Thought, this bodes well for the rest of the morning. Not to be. Buddy and I had a few other "taps", but no hook ups. Even though it was cold and ice was forming on the line. it was a nice day to be out with lots of sun and not much wind. Problem, where we fish is not very deep and bright sun "spooks" the fish and they move farther off shore. Really need a dull/overcast day for this particular place to work the best. Hope to get out again this week. SDC

Hi Knuguy We were still fishing using egg sinkers. Where we fish, you wade out about 100ft from shore into about 3 fow and then cast out about another 200ft into about 5/6 fow. By the time you walk back to shore and put the rod in the holder you have about 300ft of line out. I use braid to eliminate as much "line stretch" as I can. Really helps on the hook set. It is not feasible to drift fish at that location. I hope to get out again this week, either here or at the Nottawasaga, dependent on wind direction and speed. SDC
