Heres my new mr.jigger ripoff rod holder. It was very simple to make, only 20 minutes and it was done. i still have to find some cork or styrofoam for the wire to make it float. But it works just as well as any manufactured device.
Now i just need to get out on the ice

looks real good. Did you leave it so it can be disassembled for transportation?

thanks guys,
Yes i left the crossmember unglued so it can be completely removed and taken apart to be transported. Didnt cost me much for the material as i work with it all the time. I believe fittings are around 1- 1.50 each at the depot and pipe isnt very expensive either. I would guess under 15$ for everything. I found the wire in the threaded rod section which was only 2 bucks for 24" it is very strong yet not too bad to bend. A lot stronger than a coat hanger.
By all means, I invite you take the idea. I can even give you my measurements of pipe if you'd like.
tight lines

Nice rig I would also like the dimensions please and I'm sure any other do it yourselfer would appreciate them. I don't know for sure but doesn't the instant foam (the stuff in can) float? It wouldn't add to much weight and you could fill each piece. Just an idea.

Bob-
I'll post measurements tommorow.

Iceaddict- once the rig is together it won't fit down the hole. It's the wire you have to make float. Wine corks work perfectly.
