My first trip on Kashagawigamog with the Argo was in March of 2013. I can remember crossing the lake at my end through seemingly endless amount of slush. I thought then was because was March and approaching the melt. Ice build up wasn't a bother as temps were around or above freezing.

Last winter - 2 weeks in Feb on the lake - still lots of slush in areas on lake. Even saw an abandoned snow machine stuck in an ugly mess of slush - gone next day.

This year - deep slush (deep snow) on the lake I traveled this past sunday/monday. Not an issue of sticking to the track and vehicle Sunday as temperature was above freezing. Monday was different and back to cold.

Tuesday and Wednesday back on Kashagawigamog. The slush is in pockets - not very deep but a nuisance. My machine - argo - has no problem pulling through it. However the ice build up on the track, track guides (inner and outer), wheel rims, and body between track and wheels. The frozen chunks bang/rub where shouldn't.

I've seen the the snow machines slow down though these slush sections. Can only imagine that they also get build up. ATVS the same?

How do others manage the ice build up? Not as if can park in a heated garage at night.

Suggestions appreciated . . .

For those not following - will add photos tomorrow . . .

I hit few slush pockets last week, no problem with chains on the bike.

Last week wasn't as cold?

Here is an extreme example of slush flooding a trailer/hut on the ice.

I've now watched a few of their videos - enjoyed them - especially seeing the sauger being caught.

huge amounts of snow

The slush sticks to anything metal and just 'grows'. Bolt heads on track and ice claws . . .
