Does anyone know if ice is starting to form in northern ontario lakes?

There is ice in the Lake of the Woods and Sioux Look area already. Some places 4in. Getting scattered reports of a few anglers heading out, but be careful. Closer to home, skim ice on some small ponds.

Latest Ice Report out of Rainy River:

Nov 28th
Hello! Hope everyone had a nice Thanksgiving! We experienced a bit of a warm up over the holiday, but it sounds like we will be blasting into cooler temperatures again by the end of this week and get back to making ice! We lost the ice on the lake that had formed, but Four Mile Bay (our access to the lake in the winter) and the Rainy River in front of the lodge still have a few inches of ice. The channel in the bay and river has opened up, but we have continued to freeze at night. We know it won't be long and we will be shivering again. As for snow, we only have a skiff and not a whole lot in our forecast at this point. That is good news to us, as we prefer ice before snow!
