High winds had us pursue other activities such as snowshoeing in the woods for the morning.

Late afternoon went on the ice just off the cottage. Drilled three holes till the auger blades got frozen (I didn't thaw from yesterday) and the 2nd hole showed action!

Set up hut and wife and five year old walked out to join me.

Within minutes of all of us in hut, 5 year old puts foot down one of the 8" holes - to her waist! I pull her up and out! No problem as all water was external and we were quick!

We start fishing and with the action land our largest perch of the week - 8". Loose even larger at the hole when it hit the Vexilar float.

action stops at sunset although we stayed around incase walleye came in . . .

Sidney had last night's and tonight's perch for supper!

Overall, last two days are good practice on our fishing as a family and a team. Will only get better!!!

Stay tuned over the next couple of years!

Perch for supper!
