Got out today on Rosseau with a fello board member and his dad. Bigge and his dads first trip to the lake. We arrived at 9 am and the thermometer in the van read -27 c oh boy we must be crazy! After a short walk to the lake and admiring the beautiful galloping deer on the ice we began to fish in 60fow. The nice gentleman that I am I let my guest hook into the first fish of the day before his minnow had even hit the bottom. A momentary fight and one fish lost didn't discourage us any, just got our hopes up even higher. Shortly after Bruce Bigge's dad lost his second fish of the day,I was kind enough to hookup with a nice dinner size laker in the two pound range and layed her on the ice for our first keeper of the day. Bigge then topped my keeper by getting one of his own in the 2.5 pound range. Great days outing with the sun shining, temperature on the rise and no wind, oh yeah man gotta love it. By days end 4 pm we landed 20 lakers all of us kept two apiece and went home happy. The downer of the day occurred just as we were leaving when a couple of MNR boys approached us and did their thing. Ive been asked by co's many times how many fish for the day and for my license, and have no problem with that. However this creep checked all our bags buckets, napsacks tackle boxes and even spent several minutes lifting all the material on my hut to see if we were hiding fish. Im surprised he didn't ask for a strip search and internal. All I have to say to him is get a life jerk! Pics to follow

Sounds like a good day with the one issue ...but having said that I'm glad they are checking as we have had issues here where people take way more than their limits and even going as far as hiding them in their ski pants ....would have loved to been at court to hear that person explain that ...they were actually caught on the road at the Y in the road as you leave the village...LOL

I guess he is just doing his job, but that was a first for me. I felt like I was going through customs. A little tactfulness on is part would have been nice.
