I have the Rapala Nitro Pro Select Power Auger, bought it a couple years ago from CT. Have had no problems with it, ran flawless for 2 seasons. Anyway was out in the garage the other day and since I haven't had a chance to use it in about a month decided to start it and run it for a couple minutes. On the second pull the cord breaks and comes flying out. No big deal that's easy enough to fix. Take it to a guy I know who does small engine work. See that the recoil spring is broken too! Now this is where the problem starts. Can't find a replacement spring. CT says to contact Rapala/Normark. Call Normark(hoping I can just order the spring directly from them) and they say past warranty, I try to order spring but they just give me the number for one of their local "authorized repair centers". Call there...they have no idea what I'm talking about. Lol

Does anyone know where I can get this spring?
You called the repair place and they have no idea what a re-coil spring is? sounds like you maybe called the wrong #. Did the spring actually brake or just come unwound and poped out? Is there enough re-coil spring left to atleast put back in?

Common problem, they have universal recoil kits at Royal Distributing that fits on this unit. Mine broke on my Eskimo, and a friends Rapala did the same thing. Changed mine last year, was about $40. Got mine at the Guelph Royal, not sure if Barrie has them or not...

It's completely broken otherwhise we would have just rigged something up. That's what my buddy is trying to do. Compare to other springs and trying to and find a replacement. The "authorized repair center" knew what a recoil spring was, lol, just seemed surprised they were an "authorized center" and really didn't seem to have any idea about Rapala parts or ice augers.
Yes I'm pretty sure the number(905) I called was for Rapala in Oshawa. I'm going to give them a call again and I'll also try Eskimo.
Was just hoping someone here maybe had the same problem or something similar and knew how to get parts easier from Rapala, or maybe knew what spring I could use as a replacement.

Contact rapala again.. They sent me a new skin for my hut for free. Contacted them last season and they never got back to me emailed them Last week and they are shipping me a new skin
