Had a great day today on Rosseau with very good company, Fishing Fan and his buddy John joined me to tackle lakers. I tell ya my friends it was a messy drive leaving from orillia at 715 am. It snowed continually all the way to port carling. I met up with the two gentlemen at 830 and we got to my friends cottage and onto the lake just before 9. A heads up to anyone going onto Rosseau this weekend, there had to be close to two feet of snow on ice when we departed. Now to the fishing, Well let me say that none of us got skunked, the boys each took home their two fish limit, but this had to be the slowest day that I have seen on the lake since I began fishing here four years ago!! I believe our final count was around ten for the day and a few misses, mostly mine lol! The misses! What we lacked in fish we made up in nature as we watched a Beautiful bald eagle flying around and saw a deer coming off the ice. I also had the pleasure of making two new fishing companions, was a pleasure fishing with you both. Thanks for joining me today Dave and John see you out there again soon. No pics today hands were to cold for pic taking lol!!

Thanks Dale. We both had a great day out there. Yes, the fish count could have been higher but we got supper out of it and more important made a new friend. It was a beautiful morning once there and other than the cold wind in the afternoon a picture perfect rosseau day. Thanks so much for your time and information. We hope to return the favour on Joseph when you get back from Elliot lake. I know why they weren't too aggressive, mine were jammed full of minnows! They must have gorged themselves over the full moon the past week. Probably just a couple days earlier and they would have been on fire.

Dale, if you were back at your secret spot, Ff is right. After you and your friends left on Wednesday I was marking a ball of bait fish the size of a Mack truck at about 25f. It just kept circling around that point.

Congrats on all your success on Rosseau, some nice fish there. Nothing wrong with keeping a few for the dinner table, but how about a pic or two of some releases (no offense intended). Just saying......

Well as long as you weren't trying to imply that we are lying about our catch, no offence taken. However when someone with 9 posts, starts asking for pics of releases it makes you wonder. But I'll tell you what nomadic, you show me pics of the "6" brookies you released last December and I'll start taking pictures of my releases! No offence. Just saying.....

Ooopse, hit a nerve. Sorry bud. No need to be so sensitive. I appreciate your posts, it's been fun to follow. Having said that, I dont think that having the most posts is necessary to improve credibility. Tight lines!

#3. Guess you only owe me 3 pictures (lol). All 6 Brookies released, but only the 3 release pictures to share. Don't get me wrong, I love to eat fish, but release most (personal choice).

On our outing(also with Dale as our guide) we didn't bother. I guess it's because we were releasing the smaller ones rather than the bigger ones. I can understand the Simcoe folks taking pix of the big ones, then releasing because they are not good 'eaters' (other good reasons as well)

No harm no foul. Just turning the question u posed to us to yourself. Just an unusual request for someone to see release pictures of small trout. I don't watch italo and izumi to see them release, I watch to see them catch. Nobody asked for release pics before, u r relatively new and there has been a lot of little trolls on here lately especially in the northern lakes section. So if u r genuine, fish on and enjoy this place like I have and made some new friends along the way. But next time out I will take some pics and post em just for u in good faith. And no, post count doesn't relate to ability, but a growing one relates to being on a forum for good rather than not in most cases. Tight lines!
