Same as couch, the fish can have them. Check gills and tail on any catch. If they are clean, chances are the whole fish is. If you see spots, toss em back.

Yes both places have them...I always look at the gills, tail...and if clean when you fillet them hold up to the light...if you see a dot cut it out..if there are a bunch..toss it.

Yep lake is known for it. Warm water pumping into the lake helps keep the grubs all year. Water conditions are watched closely and advisory's have been posted in the past. It was more of a catch and release lake for me but haven't fished it in a few years

I have fished all over Ontario and parts of Quebec and have seen them everywhere not only in perch but other species even when you don't see them on the outside do as perchlover11 says hold the fillets up to the light and you will see them .......as that is what I do with all my fillets.....

Thanks guys. I fish Couch and this year I think there may be less grubs than other years. Liked you fellas I just deal with them. I had heard that L. St John was in a different category with the grubs being really bad. A few are OK ...but much more than that I will pass on the lake. Thanks again
