Got out today with the old tymer on pickerel lake. Was setup and fishing by 12, right off the hop it was perch after perch, they were small but we knew the bigger ones would come around soon enough so everything we were catching got tossed back. At about 230-3 the wind/cold kicked up and my screen went blank. Not a fish after it started, talk about back fire lol. Packed up at 5. All in all was still a good day out. im sure wel be back on the ice either tomorrow or monday.

Coming to the cottage on the south end of Lake Bernard.. Just wondering how the walk was on Pickerel Lake and where the best access point is. May be an option for us instead of fising Bernard. Thanks

Take the exit for pickerel & jack lake road. Hang left at the fork, the other way takes you to the recovery centre. You then make a right, but im not firmiliar with the street names. The walk was OK, follow snowmobile.tracks. the wind hums.on that lake so the snow wasnt too deep. Going to try cecebee today.
