I have a small garmin, can't remember the model off hand. It has the navionics maps loaded. I attach it to the skidoo handlebars with heavy Velcro tape and can see where I am while I drive usually leave it on the sled ( cold doesn't seem to bother the batteries), and use my phone while I'm walking from hole to hole. Phone stays in the inside pocket for heat otherwise.

QUOTE (gnatwest @ Oct 28, 2015 - 02:06 pm)
How is the back road GPS?

Does it highlight Crown Land well? Can you use it with Garmin Base Camp?

I like the Backroad GPS maps. I chose them over the regular too maps because of the additional recreational information, e.g. WMUs, snowmobile and ATV trails, parks and campsites, POI, etc. And, yes, the map can be used with Garmin Base Camp.

My buddy uses a Lowrance elite-4m on his ATV for traveling on lakes.

Works great and takes the map chips too.

Garmin 60CSx here.
This GPS is a GPS part of handled/outdoor line.
Now they have even better version of 60CSx
You have to browse here the line of product:

https://buy.garmin.com/en-CA/CA/cIntoSports-c10341-p1.html

The best of this series now is:
GPSMAP® 64st Part Number: 010-01199-20 / $425.99 CAD
This is a water prof unit.

I had my 60CSX in a bag full of water for 6 hours.
I open it, dried and put it back together.
Works a new and now after 6 years of usage.
Sturdy and reliable units.

If you need to mount it on a sled buy RAM mounts from:
