Hey Greg, not a problem. The sled looks great, I hope they work as well as advertised. I don't even have snow in Miss. Or I would take it outside and compare the pull. Safe ice can't come soon enough.

Looks good, I am guessing it pulled fine on that glare ice? I see you made it quite wide, made mine 30" W. My new clam is almost 6' long so I will put it on top of my with more weight to the rear.

So I'm starting to build mine, but now I'm wondering if I should take back my pelican sled, is there really any reason to have one of you use a smitty sled?

Depends, i knew i wanted something with a lid and didnt want to spend much . The big 189L tub sells at walmart for 19.99.
I have read some storys where peoples smittys have buckled out on the ice , if that happens at least youd still have a sled to get back. I carry a hammer and a dozen nails just in case

I bought a pelican just to put on top. Also if your Smitty ever breaks, you still have the Pelican to pull your gear on or off the ice.

Saves a lot of time loading all the gear into the sled rather than tieing everything down individually.. Just my thought but if you didn't have much to haul out . In my case I take everything out I can haul cause I always find if I don't the one thing I didn't take is the one thing I need.. Lol I guess the answer is up to you and what your hauling out...

Looks like I need one of these. Nice builds guys. Cheers!
Looks like you might not get much use this year Mark, maybe a summer project 😱 Hopefully our local lakes get some ice this year, please let me know if you hear they do, dying to try out both my hut and my sled.
