Yeah that's why I used High Falls Rd as all GPS's , Mapquest, Google Maps etc etc etc all use that road when routing.
The other route would be to drive right past High Falls road and come in on HWY 141 heading west to stop sigh turn right to Dee Bank Rd turn left and follow to Windermere staying to the right at the Y stop sign.
Or you could route through Bracebridge but that's a real waste of fishing time.
There are no food establishments here just a little general store at the top of the hill from the lake that runs on very limited hours throughout the winter...so if you need something you have to bring it.

Sounds like something I'd be into. Never fished lake Rosseau. and I always like "exploring". If the weather is supposed to be decent I'll likely go. Only thing is I usually like to be setup by about 8 am and I wander if things get boring in one spot.
Will give a "for sure" friday If I plan on going up.

Sounds like fun. I smell another meet and greet.
G/F said if 100yards from the parking means 100 yards than she is in, which translate I can go. My 100 meter at bbp was more like 2km and she does not trust my judgement of distance.
What do i put into my gps that would get me there? City/street
You get sucked into that as well eh?
Beeen out with guys too many times that say..........aw..it's only a 5 minute walk.......so ok here we go.....ya right 20 minutes later still not there.

been there lots of times, its not that far you can almost throw a rock at some huts from the wharf, where we go its about 10 min walk to the point we are about the furthest away from the wharf

I think little leaguers throw a baseball farther than my hut is out from the wharf
...surprized when I went out today that all the snow we got over the weekend has not slushed up the lake at all...easy walking..mostof the snow got blown off....We even had the OPP Recovery Unit diving out there ...usual practice exercises that they do every year here ...cool talking to the officers after their dives ...seems the water is next to impossible to see at 50ft worse with the mask lights on ...even with dry suits and pressure masks you could never get me to do that!!!!!
What do i put into my gps that would get me there?
City/street . Put in the Windermere House/ Windermere Rd as it is right at the lake.

I have stated driving times several times already. From Barrie, come up 11 and meet the group at Washago. Forming a convoy. If you want to go up alone check a map or GPS/

It's basically the same in time the way I drive ...I go either way when I'm heading your way ...coming up 11 there is alot less cross country so the 400 maybe closer but slower ...not sure
Coming over from the 400 the majority of the distance is on 60 km roads and you have to drive through Bala and Port Carling. No towns to deal with coming off 11....why not try one way up and the on the way home.
thanks for the info suds. never been there before thats why i asked a dumb question..and bob holy you crusty today lol..jk.. i was just asking the fastest route from barrie.no need to be sour lol...

Yes, count me in on this Saturday trip. I'll figure out driving accommodations later in the week. If I remember correctly, there aren't that many spots for vehicles near the wharf & YES watch out for deer, there are tons of them and they like to run on the road - slow down on those roads near the lake. I went there 1 week after hitting a deer in BBP and was all jitters when those critters started crossing in front of me..
