Hey wondering if there is any ice on the harbour right now, what fish you can catch in there and where to fish?

Im new to ice fishing and id like to go out and have some success, however I understand that this is not always possible.

Any tips or suggestions are greatly appreciated.

So is anyone who'd be able to show me some spots

always willing to pay a little as well.

thanks a tonne guys, I'm new to this and it seems like a great source for info.

It's +7 in Hamilton today! Going to be +9 on Wednesday!
If the ice holds it may take a week or so of minus temps to make it safe again.
Cheers!

Just came in,

Pier 4 is ALL OPEN WATER, birds a swimming and not a spec of ice. Headed to Bayfront and there was about 4.5 " ice with water on top to the first pressure crack. After that it was about 2.5" ice so we stayed on the near side.

Very slow a few small perch around, when we headed in around 1" water and first inch of ice very soft.

Not sure I'd feel safe on it tomorrow

I stopped by there a couple of weeks ago the ice was solid and there was a group of guys that had some decent size walleyes. The ice should be pretty solid again after this week.

I checked last night lots of open water around bay front a little bit of ice. Not safe tho. May by after a cold day or two that could change but I advise against it until it freezes a little bit more. I didn't dare venture out to far because it was cracking under my feet. Ice only went about 70 metres from boat launch. Some wet stops by the short and large crack at the boat launch. Be safe
