hey I've booked Mikisew and Samuel de champlain P.P for this summers camping trip. I'm bringing a 12 footer with a 9.9hp on the back as I am aware that Samuel de champlain has a 10hp limit. Has anyone fished at either of them? eagle lake at mikisew looks like smallie territory... lots of islands rocks!

A group of friends and I camped at Mikisew two summers ago in mid July. It is a nice quiet park. We didn't do a lot of fishing but we did get out a few times. Your are correct, there were lots of smallies around. There was also at least one decent sized pike caught. It wasn't huge but it was no hammer handle. Good luck!

Lots of smallies and pike too . Lots and lots and lots of rocks so go slow . There is also ling in it . The deeper water is on the other side of the causeway on northeast side . I haven't camped there in years just use the launch in Mikesew because I usually get a seasonal PP day pass .

I grew up camping this park. always fished from a canoe until I bought a bigger boat and was there 2 summers ago. lots of smallies and more recently pike. they use to stock rainbows and theres a small natural population of whitefish as well.. the small mouth I find aren't really relating to shoals (which there are millions of shoals) but I find them on the sand/weed/rock transitions. just be careful of rocks like mentioned. and don't be afraid to throw jitterbugs in the dark off of the beaches at the park. caught some giants.. definitely one of the most beautiful parks in Ontario..

Marten river gives the most water to explore because it goes forever and is connected to so much it also has every species you could want to fish for. Great drive and scenery
