Looks like we are going to have a real party or meet and greet. Thanks for everyone doing this. First, the group going straight up, we are trying to get the Windermere House parking lot to park in. When you get there Dave or Sudsmaster will be there and can fill you in on the parking. The people meeting in Beaverton at the Timmies on hwy 12 we will be leaving the parking lot at 7:45 to get to Washago and leave there at 8:30. If you are pooling, please get there in enough time to do equipment transfers etc. Me I need my 2 XL timmies.
I have already purchased the minnows and everyone will put a toonie in so the cost will be shared by all. They are large emeralds and there will be lots. I am picking up the 4 buckets at 6 AM on Saturday. If you have small bait pails bring them so you can take the minnows you need closer to your holes
Greybear will be bringing up his BBQ and equipment to cook his food. I will be donating 6 LBS of moose burgers for anyone who wants some, we are also bringing up buns, and condiments such as mustard, relish onions etc. If anyone wants to bring up something for the barbi please do. It is shared for all of us and is better than cold sandwiches.
Refreshments are to each persons taste, so bring what you want.
As stated before the fishing grounds are about 100 yards from shore. The area to fish is in that immediate area or within 5 minute walk. There is no snow so bring cleats if you want to be safe and upright.
The fish in the area is lake trout, herring & ling. The prefered method of angling is weight and hook and minnows. But you can use whatever and good luck. They have been caught on jiggin raps, and sometimes spoons. The limit is 2 trout and the rest I don't know.
There will be a couple of gas augers up there so if you want you can get holes punched with them. Of course if you use portables bring them and anything you will need or want.
Timing is up to you, you can fish till?? or all day long. Fish are usually active till dark, and then the ling oh yeah the ling.
One thing I would like to ask. Just after we finish eating I would like to have everybody stick around for a few minutes.
Anything I missed just post your questions in this thread and I will answer as soon as I see it.
Thanks again and everyone drive careful. I will tell you it is very common for deer to jump out on the road going to Windermere as well as turkeys strolling in the middle of the road. It is winding and hilly terrain so watch out for them
And since I hate typing I apologize for spelling and grammer errors now but too bad.

Thanks Bob for the offer of moose burgers. There is this bakery in Scarboro that makes amazing strudel. I will attempt to get over to it and bring a couple of them to go with the donuts. Cherry or Apple?

Thank-you Backwoodsmanbob, Sudsmaster & Greybear for helping organize this impromptu event / meet & greet and providing the BBQ and other amenities. I am still in shock at the turn-out. I'd also like to thank all the members who support this forum day in and day out, as well as, Aveng, Codyboy, SDC, Mydogbites and anyone else who is offering to bring goodies to share at this event. I have never been/organized a M&G and wouldn't even know where to start. I am just truly truly thankful to have such great members like yourselves to step up to the plate and make this all possible. I am almost speechless as usual..
I look forward to meeting everyone and spending the day fishing.. Cheers & Thanks again... Jerry
PS: This site will be 1 year old on Feb 8th and I guess we are actually doing something...

Thank you Bob and Jerry and everyone else who organize this event. Somehow I only learned the event this morning when I read this post. Jerry invited me yesterday evening, but I have yet to confirm if I can attend (and I certainly hope I can and will!). Will let you guys know by this evening (Friday)

Bob, you do realize that the barbee I'm bringing is the same little thing I brought last year to Simcoe? Everyone is welcome to use it but it's a portable so she won't cook alot at a time. I've done the shopping. ...16 buns, small mustard, ketchup, relish, onions and tomatoes. Bringin. the table,2 portables, heaters, and my finder for sure. Dave, I'll call when close and hope you can guide me to end area parking for the truck and trailer. Should be fun! Take care and play safe! Gr.B
