Was up in Haliburton for the past two days giving it one last kick at the can for the ice fishing season. Still have a good 8 inches of clear ice so it was game on. Set up off a rocky shoal in 30 feet of water jigging a spoon and wham big hit line peeling rod bent and eventually bring up a nice 4 pound laker my biggest all year! keep fishing and get another big hit and good fight but up comes a smallmouth bass u was pretty surprised to see it but quickly released it first time I've got a smallie through the ice. Shortly after a flag popped and I hand lined in another nice laker on the tip up decided to keep it for a meal. As the sun went down I started marking fish again right on bottom so I dropped down a buckshot jig tipped with a minnow head and got bit instantly and pulled up a big ol burbot! My first in a long time such a cool fish , kept fishing after dark and caught 3 more burbot and a few more small Lakers. Total for the day was 5 lake trout 4 burbot and 1 smallie. Ice will be going fast so I'm calling it a season , was a great way to go out!
