Hey NG I stopped going to the camp back in 1988. Got tired of going to the same place. I was the one who held the guide permit as well as the medical ( Senior St. Johns. ) I began to tour a bit more, Actually went to Scottsdale to play golf for a while, met a gentleman with whom I started a company so I could write off my trips. You mentioned Hay River my kid brother was a cop there and we did a few nice trips by Great Slave, the Mac, etc. Was a hoot. Love the area. We should exchange trips by phone or meet. I hate this typing

No that is downtown Whitehorse, from the New North Motel. The only time to Dawson for the Can Can girls, and a little panning at my friends claim.

The sounds of the blasting reminds me when they were plazer(not spelled correct but you know) mining for gold. They destroyed many mountain sides and beautify streams. Also one year I rented a 206 vp and flew to the Tuk. Just so I could say I was there. And of course if your friend was nice landing on a glacier for a picnic was a special trip.

Man those were the days

Placer mining, the most destructive mining method.
