Hi all,

Looking for suggestions for a 3-4 day/night fishing lodge or resort within roughly 4-6 hours of the GTA.

In the past I think I've seen the likes of Lake Kipawa suggested, I should also look up those threads.

This would probably be for early or mid July.

Ideally species wise would be bass, pike and pickerel.

Many thanks in advance!

I recommend Kipawa Lodge or Alwaki Lodge.
Pickerel, lake trout and pike available.

The upper french river, lunge lodge or chaudierre lodge. Both are very good and good fishing

My strong preferences would be chaudierre lodge OR Kipawa Lodge.

Any comparisons between the two?

Any other lodges that it would be a mistake to not consider?

My preference actually is lunge lodge, the manager Mike is great at putting you on fish. Food is great to.

Based on availability and other factors, now leaning to Alwaki. From everything I have read it seems to me that an angler coming in for 3-4 days will have a better chance at success than the Marten River... could be wrong about that, but hey the availability works too so that's good.

Is there anything else I should be aware of or other locations I ought to consider? Kipawa Lodge does not work for availability... I know there are a few other lodges on Kipawa, is Alwaki as good a bet as any?

Thanks all

Marten river is tuff fishing but if you know where on the river it can be gold.
The first few years we fished it we thought it sucked but we didn't give up and now
It's like taking candy from a baby.. Lots of boat traffic does not help but put the time in
and you will find some fish.... As well lots of great lakes in the area...

I'm only going because the cottage I normally fish at is unavailable at that time, so I'm moreso hoping for something I can jump into and have some success rather than needed multiple years to learn.

Kipawa Lodge may also actually work based on availability it turns out... I have had good conversations with Alwaki and feel quite comfortable with them, both have excellent reviews, is there any reason I should look harder at Kipawa Lodge?

Have you considered miwapanee lodge? just outside the village of kipawa. It is a drive to lodge and they offer cottages that you can boat in. Cottages are usually rented by the week. I stayed at one of the cottages for a week a couple of years ago with the family. Accommodations was great.

The fishing was ok, we didn't catch a lot of walleye but did better with the lake trout. By the end of the week we were dialed in and catching bigger trout as well. It is very secluded up there and we stayed close to the main lodge. The chain of lakes lets you explore for miles and hours, even with a big motor. Also, a very deep lake with sharp drop-offs, not too many weedbeds.

MIWAPANEE LODGE & SPA does not seem to promote fishing. One word "fishermen" used.

Ok so its missing a fish cleaning station, lol..... he did say lodge or resort not fishing camp. some guys want a clean place to stay at like a lodge or resort. And yes it caters to more than just fishermen.

I was surprised that they didn't promote fishing. I guess with all of the hot tubs, it makes sense.

This means that the fish in this lake are growing since there may be minimal pressure. Hmmmm.

I've heard really great things about Chaudiere Lodge.

I've got almost a week booked there for later in the summer.

I suggested 3Seasonscamp on Lake Kipawa.

4 day trip is 610.84 dollars per person
you get a boat for every two paid fishermen.
14 years and younger are free.
unlimited gas
worms
power 24/7
linens
etc.
license and taxes included in the price

5 hours from toronto
20 minute boat ride
tour of the fishing spots
nice secluded part of the lake

Tell Reggie RHYBAK sent you
I will be there July 8 to 12
