Nice catch. What depth did you get the laker at? Are minnows a good choice to troll with this time of year?

Right now the trout are scattered at all depths, due to the water being cool enough for them to feed comfortably in the shallows. We usually get them in the top 10-15' of water but they can be suspending out over 100'+. Minnows would work if your casting/drifting slowly however I like to troll with planer boards and minnow baits. I find the more water I can cover this time of year, the more of those scattered fish we get. It's often a fish here, a fish there, not too many times we find a school of them in the shallows
