Thanks for the positive comments.  I saw a few different ideas while researching rod storage options, and chose to hybridize 2 different ones I saw/learned about.  Hope it can be of use, even if some of you choose to improve upon it, please post.  I am always eager to expand my own knowledge, and of course always happy to share that which i have.

Cheers

I zip tied a dozen 12"x1.5" PVC on the outside and another dozen 12"x1.5"on the inside of the crate.
The long rods with reels occupy the outside, and the ice rods without reels sit on the inside.

Great little rod organizer for $25. Just what I needed.

Thanks again.

no baitcasters?

I've always been happy with spinning reels. Never felt the need or want for a baitcaster.

Nice looking rack you got there, I was considering doing something similar but I only have about 12 rods in service at the moment, however, I see my collection growing so I may do a second rack with the inside/outside method. Seriously beats the price of store bought racks.

I agree, bought my first baitcaster rod and reel about a month and a half ago, after a few test casts in the backyard with a practice plug I had a second rod/reel within 2 weeks. Not going to lie, I will probably be at atleast 4 setups by the end of the summer, there is something different/fun about baitcasters, was scared to use them for far to long and glad I finally moved into them.

For anyone hesitant about giving it a shot, just watch a couple youtube vids on setting the drag/spool tension and you should have no problem, minus the obvious learners curve for beginners.

Cheers,

Baitcasters have their place.

Don't be afraid to step out of the box!!!!

Practice does make perfect, eventually

Nothing wrong with becoming proficient with a spinner and conventional reel.

Enjoy your new reels!!!!
