What a croc...................................
Per PETA: "we think condos will look better in Bowmanville where the zoo now stands."
PETA always has their agendas and much of the public are like sheep listening, reacting to PETA's claims. The zoo was clobbered in the court of opinion vs a real court.
The real losers are the animals as they break them up and move them. In many cases the bond between handlers and some animals could create health issues with the animals once they are separated.
PETA comment last week:
"This Father’s Day, Get Hooked on Compassion, not Fishing"
Prior postings:
"Angler Hooks Shark, Shark Bites Man: Time to Ban Fishing"
"Leave fish off your plate! Fish are far more complex than most people realize, and studies have shown that they are capable of suffering and feeling fear, pain, and stress. Dr. Donald Broom, scientific adviser to the British government, has stated that anatomically, physiologically, and biologically, the nervous system in fish is virtually the same as in mammals. Fish are highly social animals who communicate, form bonds, and even grieve when others are lost (or, in this case, trapped in a net)."
If the people in the surrounding zoo area had any care in their hearts, they would load up their cars and visit this zoo. Find me a child that has not learned, benefited from a day at the zoo.....
One this zoo is gone, never another again.............

I live around the corner from the zoo, the oldest zoo around since the early 1900s it's truly sad to see this happening. I suggest we all visit the zoo as much as possible over the summer is the best way to save it

I watched the video by PETA and the first half of the video made by the Bowmanville Zoo aquite truthfully the Bowmanville Zoo video looks way more honest. The director swears a lot and Unfortunately for him has a character that PETA can really exploit and mold their little activists followers with. This seems to me what has happened.
I'm sure if you were to go to any Zoo working with live potentially dangerous Animals you will see some kind of methods of training like this to get the animal to act as you want it to and to listen to you. Not all of themSeemed angry and swear and so they aren't as easy to exploit. I'm all in favor of animal safety right across the board but I don't like when activist groups makeup things and turn things to try to skew people's views. Now a lot of people will have to travel further and pay more to go to the Toronto Zoo whereas they might have had this in their backyard for Generations
