Hi everyone so I'll start off with what trolling motor I have so I have a minkota 55lbs thrust and for a long time I would go in thick weeds and it would clog up so I'd have to pull it out and clear weeds off alot and I got tired of it so I took a putty knife and cut the handle off and sharpen the edges so when the weeds hit the blade they get cut .then I bent the putty knife to the shape of the trolling motor then took 2 sided duck tape and put it in between the trolling motor and the putty knife then I made sure the blades were t going to hit the blade while spinning by turning the prop by hand then for few seconds with power then put 2 hose clamps on to hold them in place . So last week I tried it and I didn't t have to clear it once if it got weeds on I put in reverse then back to forward and they came right off . If anyone tries this use at your own risk just wanted to share what I did .
