I can beat this one into the ground. But maybe closing fishing at these spots is the only option. Thank-you to all the fishing slobs out there.
SELWYN TOWNSHIP - What should have been a serene paddle along the James A. Gifford Causeway turned into a litter-filled eyesore for one Ennismore resident.
Brad Sinclair, a realtor and volunteer firefighter, was out in his kayak on Tuesday morning and noticed garbage scattered along the rocks running the length of the Bridgenorth-Ennismore connector. He posted photos of his findings to his Facebook page, garnering much ire from local residents concerned with the mess that’s seemingly being left behind by anglers.
A scan of the north side of the causeway on Tuesday night from boat showed plastic bags, water bottles, cans and numerous Styrofoam worm containers. The trash seemed concentrated around areas along the causeway frequented by shoreline anglers.

I will never understand people who poop where they eat...
The way I always do it is to take a garbage bag with me and clean the area I'm fishing as much as I can before I leave.
I encourage everyone to do this so we can have cleaner waters and shorelines. I know it's something we shouldn't have to do but with so many people that are uneducated, ignorant and plain stupid and trash the place they are supposed to enjoy, this might be the only option to keep these areas accesibile to all of us.

I love it!
And so they should shut it down.. Gannon's narrows isn't much better. I'm all for people fishing but be respectful of others and the land. I talked about this weeks ago about people taking a dump..going poop what ever you call it right on the side of causeway then leaving it there. I really hope they shut it down.. the unfortunate part is they'll end up buying boats and making a mess anyway.

I love that word.... I know people who have actually witnessed adult diapers being thrown in the rocks.

Its not just the garbage. The shore spots I visit for fishing, the people pretty much take the fish no matter the size. I see like 3-4 bass that are not even half a pound being taken. Sunfish being taken like they are starving for food, pretty much no matter the size they are taking the fish. I arrived at a Trent Severn waterway 6:30 in the morning the other day and saw a group of people with the cage packed with fish from bass, sun fish, walleye everything. Every shore spot I visit, its pretty much only my friend and I doing catch and release. At this rate, there will be no fish left. Catch and release is not in their dictionary. I get taking the odd 1 or 2 fish for the fry but the rate they are taking fish is just insane.

Straw hat and bucket fishermen. Approach them and tell them they are breaking the rules and they dont understand, talk about a new fishing spot and they understand everything. Close this area down, close them all down and get rid of them abusing and trashing our resources.

They shouldn't be fishing there anyways, it's unsafe. It's a bit of a joke how many of them there are everyday. %90 of them are in the white bucket brigade too. You thinking talking to these people will make a difference? Half of them won't understand anyway

Put yourself in their position, a stranger talking to you is going to be completely worthless. They are just going to find you rude and annoying. Also, how many people can I realistically talk to? If there are 10+ people in 1 spot, I am not going to go over to each one of them and talk about it. That is asking to get beat up, they'd think this guy doesn't even have the authority, why is he talking to us? If a walleye under 13.8 inches or over 19.7 inches was being taken, I would just report it and not think twice. The problem is they are not breaking the rules. They can take bass no matter the size, its just limit in the number of fish one can take. The problem is they take the limit or close to it no matter the occasion. Baby fish are being taken, god knows for what. If people think the kawartha lakes aren't being over fished, just head on over to your local trent severn waterways or causeways and you will see what I am talking about. Easily 10+ people in the same spot on a weekend with cage/bucket ready to take home. You count each spot and its like 60-70 people fishing with buckets ready to take home every weekend.

I agree with all your comments but this is not headed in the right direction... There are already very few shore fishing spots and catching fish is difficult in those areas.
We need a way to protect our resources but not ban the fishing community.

Agreed the fishing is difficult there because every catchable fish 2in and over that can bite on a hook has been taken home in buckets. Cant even take the kids fishing they cant catch anything at those spots fished out! so whats the diff if they close them down. send these slobs and fish rapists packing! once one of them shows up in a spot more and more start coming and soon the spot in unfishable with garbage and line and poop! keep yoru shore spots QUIET! dont tell anyone!
