Checked out a lake new to me, and was rewarded for putting up with the cold. Surprised to find a laker this big in a mid-smaller lake. Not bad for first fish of 2018! I know where i'm putting my hut this year.

definitely a really old fish, i promptly released it after a couple quick shots. Nearly inhaled my Williams. Didn't have normal laker markings, like a flat brown-green colour, no spots.

Nice Fish! Must have been a good fight. I'm heading to Haliburton from Parry Sound to visit the inlaws at Grass Lk this coming wknd. Hope to entice some walleye there or in Pine Lk . Sounds like cold temps again for Sat., time for the hub tent I guess. Used to icefish fish a bit for lakers when we cottaged on Kennisis Lk. Now it's Georgian Bay , ...when we have ice.
