Heading up to Lake Muskoka for the 30/31/1.

Rented a cottage and wanted to try some ice fishing walking distance from our dock where we had some good fishing in the summer. Caught some decent Pike and a Walleye.

A.) What's the times that's legal to fish on Muskoka

B.) What's ice conditions currently

C.) If season is open what should I target? Tips etc

I was on Lake Muskoka on Dec 30 in Milford Bay area. There was 6 inches of good hard clear ice which was very consistent out as far as I went.

How do I PM someone? Every time I try it says.....I can not use the his feature. I used to get really reliable advice from someone on this forum but I can’t contact him. Anyways.... can someone tell me how the ice may be from Indianhead marina to pine island on lake Muskoka?I am hoping to walk the cottage this Friday. Thanks in advance,
Tolly

I didn’t know I had to post in order to PM. I had posted under a similar name in the past ....as well as sent personal messages but not in the last 8 months or so. Anyhow....that was the answer I was looking for! Thanks again Canuckbass!!! I will post more in the future.

Lots of slush spots on muskoka now. Snow and slush will make it hard walking.

If you hit some of the slush holes that I did it will be hard going. I wouldn't take my atv out in it. Sled was working and I have long track wide track. This cold should help but monday looks bad. Warmer and more snow. Lots of snow on lakes now.

I ran almost the whole lake, next cold snap you'll be fine. Rain coming this week.
Mixture of bare ice, slush and snow drifts yesterday but easy to get to your island.

Dragged a hut out on Sunday 7th

Slush was really bad in spots, bare frozen slush in spots and snow drifts

Drilled holes from 6" to 10" to 14" all within 50 yards.

Ice is pretty variable still but probably about 10" most non current areas.

If your not familiar with where to go look for huts.
