Thanks for the tip much appreciated - I was in that area so thank you. They were super finicky - do you suggest just a dead stick minnow on a jig head? I find right now a lot of fish are coming in to take a look but you need to finesse them to bite.

Congrats on your first Laker. I'm heading out tomorrow morning with my brother who has never fished for Lake trout. Hope he/we are as luck as you were.
