Walleye opener?

Only a couple of weekends before walleye opener. I will be heading to lake scugog for walleye opener. Where is everyone else headed? Can anyone share any tips tricks to use on scugog.

I will be fishing Buckhorn Lake with my kayak. I can't wait.

Thats it Fox. Tried it last year for the opener on the Bay of Quinte! It was KILLER!!
Got my limit in less than an hour n half. Spent the rest of the day pike fishing.

Wow, cheap worm and hook no fancy stuff

Yeah, slow death works on catching lots of different species too. I've caught bass and panfish as well. I can't do the opener since our boat will be in the Thousand Islands and I will be in Ajax. Hubby has to work as well so probably no shore fishing unless we do pike locally in Frenchman's bay.

Your right npetersen, I also took home 20 nice perch that day as well. All on the "slow death".

Thanks for the tip. I never tried the "slow death" hook. Looks simple and deadly.

Now what hook size are we looking at?

Not sure what size i was using. I'm at work now. But don't forget to put a swivel on the other end of the leader because of the spin the hook does.

I haven't decided yet which lake to fish for walleye opener, but it will be either Lake Scugog or Rice Lake. Depends on weather and conditions.

Put a trigger x worm on that hook and it will simprove your catch more.
